Tulip Card

My first post! It's a little bit daunting to say the least. So please bear with me as I find my blogging feet so to speak.

My friend was leaving work and I wanted to make her a card.  I used her favourite things as inspiration.  She loves tulips, so I searched around my stash for a suitable image.

I found an Anna Griffin topper, then looked for papers to bring out the colours in the topper from her range.  I'm not sure if you can see clearly enough in the photo that there are three layers of mats: a plain dark one closest to the topper followed by two patterned mats.

The sentiment was made using Spellbinders Shapeabilities, Fancy Tags Three onto the patterned paper for the base, topped with words stamped in Distress Ink Aged Mahogany onto off white card to match the topper.

I almost forgot, the card base is white and A5 size.  The background colour was a blend of several Distress Inks applied with brushes: Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Scattered Straw with a flick of Aged Mahogany around the edges.

Well that's about it and the end of my first blog, phew!
