Cute Doggie Card

So Cute.  Brings back memories of our dog when she was a puppy many moons ago.  She went everywhere with us - and when all grown up - peeking out of rucksack when we were out hiking and the weather had turned so bad!  She knew where the  best place was!

I used all sorts on this card, although I kept to just 3 colour groups, browns, pinks and aqua.

I thought if I split my post into materials and tools, and then how I put it all together, it might make it easier for you to follow?

So here's the list of materials and tools:

White card to stamp on
6x6 inch white card blank
Pampered Pets stamp by Docrafts
Spellbinders Nestablities, Fleur de Lis Squares for the frame; Square Nesties for the image
Promarkers
Distress Inks, Tumbles Glass, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick, Vintage Photo
Silver leaf and glue pen
Stickles - Waterfall (and some clear unbranded glitter glue in my stash for the rose).
Clear Glossy Accents

How I put it all together
  1. I used Vintage Photo to stamp the Cutie and coloured in with aqua, pink and brown Promarkers.  The ink on the bag did bleed a little, but I'm okay with that.
  2. From white card, cut out the largest Fleur De Lis frame.  I applied Distress Ink Tumbled Glass with a brush, then with my finger spread out the Stickles thinly over it - and set aside to dry.
  3. Found the right size Square Nestie which would cut the Cutie out so it would sit behind the frame, the frame edge is so very narrow!
  4. Very lightly added with Cut & Dry foam the Tattered Rose around the Cutie
  5. Laid all the above down onto the 6x6" card blank to get an idea of size and again with a brush, flicked from the edge towards the centre with Worn Lipstick.
  6. Returning to the Cutie - she looked a little flat, thought she might benefit from a bit of metal look for the bag furniture.  So using one of those really useful glue pens, "coloured" over the ring and zipper bit.  Let it dry until clear and placed a small piece of silver leaf over and rubbed away the bits that didn't stick.  It worked quite well.
  7. Then mounted the cutie onto the card blank with the frame on top
  8. Finally... a little iridescent glue (with pink tones) onto the rose and the tiniest of spots of glossy accents on the dogs nose and eyes to help them pop.
Well, that's about it, I made another after this one for my mum's birthday.  Her favourite colour is yellow, which goes really nicely with the aquas and browns.  I changed the colour of the rose on the bag to yellow too and didn't colour the background of the Cutie.  It was so much easier to make second time around!

Hope you find my post useful, Anna
