This Golden Wedding Anniversary card is made on an A5 size card with cream vellum.
Unfortunately, the vellum isn’t showing on the photograph, it covers the whole of the inner mat on the card, the embellishments hiding where the vellum is glued onto the base card.
I had a rough idea of the look I wanted and the die cuts to use before I started. They are all by Marianne design Creatables. I used Kanban gold mirra card and two shades of brown mica/pearlised card for the flowers.
Firstly, I used a gold mat on the cream base card, leaving a thin border of the cream card showing. Then, I cut another mat of cream card, but didn’t adhere it to the large gold mat until I had finished with placing and adhering the die cuts. I made the flowers as per the instructions at the back of the flower dies and used punches for the gold leaves and tiny hearts.
My handwriting is not brilliant and I didn’t have any stamps or peel-offs to say what I wanted, so cheated a little. I chose the fonts on my computer and printed them out in black ink onto some scrap paper. I already had the design laid out, so knew where the words should go. I had a little practice first on tracing paper, before I committed to writing with a gold pen onto the vellum.
I used a dry glue to fix the die cuts in place, so that the vellum wouldn't buckle. Attached the vellum to the cream mat card and cut away the any overhanging flourishes before adhering to the gold mat. Lastly, I used silicon glue for the flowers and leaves and dry glue again for the tiny hearts.
I think this design could be used for a silver anniversary too, just by changing the colours to white and silver.
