Lily Pond Stencil

I like the pastel colours I used on this oriental inspired card.

The lily pond image is made using stencil by Dreamweaver.

The card size is A5.

I haven’t the time (or patience!) to use a lightbox and ball tool on this intricate pattern, so I used my Big Shot to emboss* the stencil pattern on the same cardstock as the card.

Leaving the stencil in place, I coloured the raised areas with pastels on a brush, using a different brush for each colour.  Then, cut it out, leaving a border.
On another piece of card I stamped the words in pink pigment ink and sprinkled clear embossing powder over, heating to set.  Then I edged both the stencil and words with the same pigment ink.
The real bamboo at the top is tied together with a length of blue raffia and adhered with dab of silicon glue.

*To dry emboss a stencil, you will need a rubber type sheet, which will compress the card into the shape of the stencil, there are several on the market, I used a Spellbinders mat.  The “sandwich” consists of:  the multiple base platform folded out for stencils, plate, card, stencil, rubber mat, plate.
